Did you know that after a long day and one more pass to climb, that you can actually keep a loaded bike upright on a 6% grade at 2.5 mph?! Did you know that if you put a cowboy hat on in Idaho, you will automatically speak with a southern drawl? That you can herd a stray bull on the side of the road with a touring bike? That the person who invented shoulder rumble strips did NOT own a bicycle?
Yes, we have learned all these things, and more! We have had good weather, until last night as we were trying to outrun a rainstorm heading into Teton Village, WY, when the rain definitely won! But it was sure fun trying, and I got a great shot of the rainbow that came out later.
This huge gorgeous bull had gotten out and the rancher was trying to get him home, which was 2 miles down the road, but the bull had other plans...then we came along, and he asked us to stay behind on the other side of the road so he could herd him home. He said he was wondering if he would ever get the bull home by himself until we showed up! Priceless....
Exciting weekend, guys ! ! So nice to see you having a great time. Just like being young again; carefree, in love and on the road :-)

ReplyDeleteSooo cool!! You didn't blog about the hours of fun of troubleshooting Alex's car problems in California via Alaska and Washington. Don't you wish you'd left your cell phone at home? :)
