Nine days to go, and the the house is a mess! Our living room has become our staging area, the bikes are half packed, and our stuff is everywhere. Hard to believe that all this will soon be neatly packed on the bikes, looking organized again. We have a few more things to get and a couple more projects to take care of, and then the open road will be a reality. I wish I had a dime for every time someone has told us we must be crazy...... Quitting your job and pedaling across the country doesn't mean you are crazy, though. It's just a normal reaction to the process of turning 50! my last day of teaching was yesterday.....
It feels good to have this change, to feel the excitement of the coming journey. Perspectives change when the backdrop of something bigger unfolds before you. Anticipation adds energy to the day which in turn builds hope for the new day coming. Even as I sometimes wonder at the "craziness" of it all, I can't imagine doing anything else right now!
I am so excited to follow you on this journey..
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy travels my dear Sister!!I'm so proud that you are taking on this fine adventure and look forward to wherever it might lead you! With all the planning and preparations, I expect there will still be plenty of beautiful surprises along the way. Hugs to both you and Tino. One thing I've always admired about you two, is how you take the time to embrace the moment. Here's to many fine moments on the road together!
